Guides
What to do when it happens
Practical guides for the moment it goes wrong, written to be useful before you call anybody, including us.

The process
How a call actually goes
- Step 1
You call, a person answers
Ring (619) 703-0328 at any hour. Tell us what you need (a lock rekeyed, a key cut, a door opened) and where you are. We tell you what it will cost and roughly how long we will be.
- Step 2
We drive to you
We are mobile: the van carries the picks, the key machines, the blanks and the programming kit. There is nowhere for you to drive to and nothing for you to tow.
- Step 3
We check ID, agree the price, then open it
We confirm the property or vehicle is yours, confirm the price with you, and only then start work. Nothing happens before you have said yes to a number.

FAQ
The questions we get asked most
Are you open right now?
Yes. We are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including weekends and public holidays. Call (619) 703-0328 and tell us where you are and what has happened.
How much is it going to cost?
You get a price before any work starts, so you can say yes or no before a tool comes out of the van.
We do not publish a price list because the job genuinely changes the number: a car door is not a deadbolt, a transponder key is not a spare house key, and where you are affects how long it takes to reach you. Ask on the phone and we will tell you what it is for your job.
Will you ask me to prove it is my house or my car?
Yes, every time. Before we open a home, a vehicle or a unit we ask for photo ID and something that connects you to it: a licence with that address, a lease, a vehicle registration, a utility bill.
It takes a minute and it is the same check that stops somebody doing this to you.
Will you damage my lock or my door?
Our normal method is non-destructive: we pick, bypass or decode the lock and you keep using it afterwards.
Drilling is a last resort on a small number of locks. If it is the only way in, we tell you before we start, and we tell you what replacing that lock involves so there is no surprise.
Which areas do you cover?
All of San Diego County. That includes the South Bay and East County (Chula Vista, National City, Coronado, Imperial Beach, La Mesa, El Cajon, Santee, Lakeside, Alpine, Spring Valley, La Presa and Lemon Grove), the San Diego communities such as La Jolla, Pacific Beach, Point Loma, Clairemont, Mira Mesa and Rancho Bernardo, and North County: Oceanside, Carlsbad, Vista, San Marcos, Escondido, Encinitas, Solana Beach, Del Mar and Poway.
If you are not sure whether we reach your street, call (619) 703-0328 and we will tell you straight away.
Are you licensed?
Yes. We hold California Locksmith License number 7974. You are entitled to ask any locksmith for their licence number before they start work. A locksmith who will not give you one is a locksmith to hang up on.
I have lost the only key to my car. Can you make a new one?
Yes. We cut and program car keys, transponder keys and key fobs at the vehicle, so in most cases you do not need a tow to a dealership.
Have the vehicle identification number, your photo ID and the registration ready: we need to see that the car is yours before we make a key for it.
What should I do while I wait?
Stay somewhere well lit and public if you can, and keep your phone line free so the technician can reach you when they are close. Have your ID out.
If a child or a pet is shut in a hot car, or you feel unsafe where you are, call 911 first and then call us.
Talk to us now
Tell us what you need, and where. We come to you.
